Luna
January 1, 2017 – August 20, 2026 Aged 9 years
Luna, Luna-Lou, Chicken Lu, we were so lucky to have you in our lives. You had a sweet, trusting nature to all humans, and everyone you encountered was a new friend you wanted to meet. You were a reluctant big sis to our other cats who miss you now, too.
I know there will be so many more little things that I will remember about you over the next few weeks but I will miss your green eyes, and your sweet, fuzzy paws that asked for more pets (you could never have enough pets). We loved lounging with you. You were always asking for snacks and “ham.” I loved all your little vocalizations and vocabulary, they made us laugh so much discovering them. Now the house is so quiet without you. I miss you being conveniently in the way as I got ready every morning. I miss you greeting us when we got home. We always thought you were special because if we ever coughed for more than a few seconds if one of us was sick, you would come running to us mewing and concerned right next to our face. You loved any kind of drawer or cabinet, from jumping into the dresser drawer, to trying to explore our fridge when we opened it. You loved dashing outside. One time, you dashed up the neighbor’s gigantic tree and wouldn’t come down. More that that, you knew exactly how to squeeze past another neighbor’s gate so that you could explore their yard without us trying to get you back. You’d stare right at us through their gate, then roll around in the dirt, until we tempted you back with premium treats. I’d occasionally let you explore the backyard with me while I did yard work. You liked to sniff around the garden to see what was growing and nibble on the grass. You always made sure to roll in a patch of dirt, especially when I had the intention of bringing you back inside. You were silly, sassy, and you will forever be in our hearts. We love you so much. Rest in peace baby Luna.
