Baby (my dearest calico)
April 13, 2025 – September 20, 2026 Aged 1 years
To My Kitty, my baby, my stinky Pete:
You came to me during a time when I didn’t even know I needed you, when I found you and your siblings all of them were so scared of me but you. Like you knew we were supposed to be together.
When we had to separate you guys and re-homed your siblings it hurt me so intensely knowing I couldn’t care for all four of you, but I vowed to myself to spoil you and care for you until our last day together.
Nothing could have prepared me for your passing, you were unlike any other cat I’ve ever met before. So expressive and polite. When you wanted cuddles or pets you got them how you wanted it on the spot. You followed me around yet also led me to everywhere you wanted to go. It’s like you were literally my sister the way we’d fight for Moms attention, but of course you always won.
Your eating habits were so funny, how you could cry and scream for a pack of can food but the moments it’s served to you it was two little licks then you’d look at us and walk off like “yeah I’m done”. But don’t let anyone have a Churu stick around you cause you were gonna finish that quicker than how fast you can run a lap around the entire house.
Every spot that was yours I won’t ever look at the same again, the computer chair we bought for my office space turned into your portable bed, our welcome mat having to be placed on the coffee table for your comfort.
Every perfect stretch you’d put on the love seat and somehow never actually tearing any fabric or destroying any furniture. That was because you were so polite and gentle with every action you made. You were the most ladylike feline I had ever met. The way you’d ask to go outside to play for a bit but on these hot summer days you were back ringing on a jingle bell with a string tied on it that just so happened to get stuck on the handle of the back door perfectly at your height. How did you even think to start using that as your own personal door bell?
I am so proud to have been your provider, your owner, your person, but really what you made me feel like was your home. You made me feel so loved and appreciated. Any bad day didn’t matter as long as I got to go home to you. I’m sorry I had you for such a short time. I will never forgive myself for letting you go. I love you more than you could ever fathom.
